Depending on your preference, one may choose to stay is a cozy Deluxe Room with contemporary décor. First Impression
Our drive to The Westin Kuala Lumpur was pretty decent. Do expect some traffic nearer to the hotel as The Westin is located right beside Pavilion Bukit Bintang. To save time on traffic, you can take the MRT to Bukit Bintang Station. From there, it is a 5 minutes walk away to The Westin.
I arrived at around 3PM and was whisked to the check-in counter by the doormen who greeted me at the main entrance. Our room comes with Club Lounge access, which means we can check-in in a more secluded and comfortable area at the Club Lounge on level 3. However, since there was no one at the lobby, we decided to check in at the lobby instead. The front desk was already expecting our arrival and we got our keys to the room in less than 5 minutes.
The Room – The Westin Suite
Our room is located on the 25th floor. If you are staying at The Residence, the lift would be on a different location. You would also need your key card to access the floor to your room, as well as to the Club Lounge.
As we enter the room, we were welcomed by a spacious living area that oversees the KL skyline. There is a dining table that can sit 5 adults comfortably, a sofa perfect for a late-night Netflix session, as well as a working desk. There is also a mini bar consisting complimentary sachets of coffee and tea. Drinking water is provided in a glass bottle, where the water is refilled by Westin’s own water filtration system.
The bedroom features The Westin’s signature Heavenly Beds. The bed was super comfortable and I have no trouble falling asleep right away after lying down. There is another sitting area right in front of the bed, presumably another working desk to get some light work done.
The toilet in my opinion was pretty luxurious. Elegantly decorated with marble flooring, it features a deep-soaking bathtub, as well as a separated area for shower and toilet. A single vanity is provided, along with full sets of toilet amenities.
Food Options – The Westin Kuala Lumpur
The Club Lounge
The club lounge is open from 6AM to 10PM daily. If you booked a room with Club Lounge access, you would be able to enjoy breakfast as well as evening canapes here at the lounge. Coffee, Tea, Juices and canned drinks are served all day. If you are a drinker, be sure to head down to the Club Lounge from 530PM – 830PM, where alcohols (wines, beers, and liquors) are served. I went to the lounge on both days of my stay, and the food served was of a good variety. My first day at the lounge was more of a local Malay cuisine, whereas my second day was more of a Western delight.
If you prefer to enjoy your evening canapes in a more quiet environment, head down to the lounge between 7-830PM, as kids will not be allowed to enter during this time frame.
443 Bar – The Westin Kuala Lumpur
Hidden away in the lower lobby of The Westin Kuala Lumpur, 443 Bar is a vintage-style bar and coffee lounge serving fine wines, premium liquors, and artisan cocktails. I had the opportunity to try some of the signature artisan cocktails, which includes Remedy and Apricus.
Remedy is a CNY drink reimagined – using Vodka as base, the cocktail is a clever combination of some of our favorite Chinese New Year drinks (Chrysanthemum, Winter Melon, Jujube). Apricus is a less creamy version of a Pina Colada. Instead of coconut milk, passion fruit foam was used to provide the creamy texture of the drink.
Starfall is a Gin based cocktail with lime and butterfly pea syrup. We find this drink to be slightly underwhelming compared to the aforementioned 2 drinks.
Hi-Tea Buffet
HI-Tea buffet is served at The Westin’s all day dining restaurant, The Living Room. Only available on Saturday from 1230-330PM, this buffet serves cuisines Asian and Western cuisines. One must not miss the delightful tea-time treats in this buffet, including traditional kuihs, macaroons, and cakes.
Westin Afternoon Tea Set
Available daily at RM128NETT for 2 person, The Westin Afternoon Tea Set is a newly engineered presentation with new menu and fresh ingredients! Enjoy bites such as scallop cucumber salad and smoked salmon donut sandwich.

For a limited time only, pair your afternoon tea set with Roku Gin inspired cocktail. In a collaboration between The Westin and Roku Gin, you can enjoy specially crafted cocktails at affordable pricing.
Nuvola is a summer drink with tropical flavors of mango and pineapple. Roselle Sonata brings alive the tartness of roselle tea and grapefruit juice.
Splash – Westin Pool Bar
Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, Splash is The Westin’s poolside restaurant and bar. Cocktail selections here are pretty limited, but our friendly bartender make us a signature Margarita. I also tried a coconut as well as a plate of chicken satay. It was a great place to enjoy some snacks overlooking the pool.
Westin Delight Buffet Dinner
Westin Delight Buffet Dinner is a grand presentation of different cuisines around the world. Starting with local Malaysian cuisine, one can also enjoy Oriental dishes such as roasted duck, to Indian-inspired delicacies. Fresh seafood on ice and sashimi is also available for those who prefers seafood.
Complete your feast with unlimited fresh durians! Enjoy mouthfuls of fresh Durian Kampung and Durian Kahwin at a nominal fee, when dining in at The Westin Delight Buffet Dinner.
Breakfast Buffet @ The Living Room
The breakfast spread was pretty decent, which covers local and oriental dishes. From Nasi Lemak to Roti Canai, I had a dilemma in choosing what I want to eat! If you are looking for something more Asian, they have noodle soup and congee as well. The pastry selection of this breakfast buffet was very impressive!
In-Room Dining
I am always a big fan of in-room dining at 5 star hotels. Hence, there was no exception during my stay as I decided to indulge in 2 meals, supper and breakfast.
On my first night, I placed an order of mushroom soup, chicken rice, as well as Frutti Di Mare. The mushroom soup served was thick and full of chopped mushrooms. I particularly enjoy the chicken rice as well, huge portion of chicken and fragrant rice. The Frutti Di Mare consists of prawns, mussels, squids, as well as scallops. All of the seafood were fresh.
For my breakfast, I had to try the Westin Wellness Breakfast set, which has an egg-white omelet with cherry tomatoes and cheddar cheese, served along a side of salad. This set is vegetarian-friendly, and also comes with low fat yoghurt as well as a muesli.
I decided to try a staple Malaysian breakfast set, which is nasi lemak. This dish come served with a side of fried chicken drumstick, as well as huge tiger prawns.
I also ordered a waffle for good measure. I am pretty happy that The Westin is quite generous with the berries (Strawberry, Blueberry and Raspberry)

Sustainability
At The Westin Kuala Lumpur, sustainability plays a huge part in ensuring guest having a wonderful stay. No straws are provided, and only paper straw is available when requested. ‘Eat Well’ with The Westin’s sustainably produced greens, available at all dining outlets.
In my room, no plastic water bottle was provided. Instead, glass bottles of drinking water is available for free, with the water being treated by Westin’s own filtration system. Shampoo, hair conditioner, as well as body bath are now in a refillable dispenser.
Final Thoughts
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Westin Kuala Lumpur. We find our room to be clean and spacious, perfect for a short getaway. The Westin is also one of the best in terms of location, with walking distance to major shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur’s shopping district.
