I have heard a lot of good things about Tune Hotel in the past. In fact, I even stayed in one back in 2020 in Georgetown! Hence, when lady boss told me she wanted to head to Mitsui Outlet before our flight, I thought why not we head to the airport 1 day earlier and stay at Tune Hotel KLIA2 instead.
I personally been to Tune Hotel KLIA2 before, and I was in love with the interior design of the hotel. It felt like a place made for instagrammers to take tons of photo! I have also eaten at their all-day-dining restaurant, Makan, once and it left a positive impression. Hence, when the opportunity came knocking, I decided to stay over at Tune Hotel KLIA2 before our flight to Langkawi the next day!
Tune Hotel’s core proposition is to offer a great night’s sleep at a great price. All of the Tune Hotels feature space-efficient, streamlined rooms focusing on high-quality basics: 5-star beds and powerful hot showers. In total, Tune Hotel has 9 properties in Malaysia and 1 in the United Kingdom. This time around, we will be staying at Tune Hotel KLIA2, one of the 2 transit hotels of Tune, the other one being Tune Hotel KLIA Aeropolis.
First Impression – Tune Hotel KLIA2
We took a Grab to the Airport, and we then walked over to Tune. It is pretty convenient and easy to find as there are signboards all over KLIA2 to direct you to the correct locations. There is a connecting walkway (covered, but not air-conditioned) to the hotel, and the total walking time was around 10 minutes. It was pretty empty and quiet, so I would say it’s a pretty relaxing walk.
Towards the end of the walkway, we finally see the entrance of Tune. Pretty nice and well-lit, and for me it feels like a perfect place to take some nice picture.
As we walked through this short tunnel of infinite lightbulbs, we were greeted by a lobby that is very photogenic, as well as extremely spacious and generous. I’m not a big fan of small lobby, as it felt very ‘stingy’ and compact and suffocating. The lobby at Tune Hotel KLIA2 was totally opposite!
I was soon greeted by the receptionist, and she mentioned my room is ready and we are able to head into our rooms immediately. She even did the courtesy of leading us into the room and doing a brief introduction about the surrounding.
The Room
We managed to score ourselves a ‘Garden King Room’, a room that is designed to allow in plenty of natural light. The room also comes with a garden view, supposedly to ‘calm’ ourselves before or after a hectic journey I guess. HAHA.
The room comes with a super spacious king-sized bed, a small table beside the bed, open-concept wardrobe, as well as toilet and shower. Toilet amenities are also provided.
There is also a mini-bar where coffee, tea, and 3 bottles of water are provided FOC.
I personally am a big fan of the open wardrobe concept. It helps to keep the room spacious and airy and in line with the design of the room. The basin is beside the wardrobe.
The toilet and shower is simple and nice, with strong power shower and hot water.
The corridor has almost an industrial feeling to it as well. We were heading out to Mitsui and decided to take a pic!
It was already in the evening when I decided to head back out of the hotel and visit Mitsui. We came back to the hotel at 8PM and had a wonderful dinner at Makan, Tune’s all-day-dining restaurant. For a more detailed review, you can read it HERE.
The Food
The next morning, we head back to Makan to have our breakfast. Breakfast are served in set-meal style, where you get to choose between western or local. Coffea/Tea/Juice are unlimited and self service.
We decided to go for both western and local, and we couldn’t resist ordering the Iced Mocha again. If you’re wondering why we are obsessed with their Iced Mocha, read our review HERE.
The weather was pretty decent so we decided to sit outdoors for our breakfast!
We had Nasi Lemak with Ayam Goreng, as well as an American breakfast set. The American breakfast set has your usual ham and sausage, with baked beans and breads. However, we felt like the portion was too huge for early morning.
Unfortunately, the Nasi Lemak was a let down. The rice was not fragrant and the chicken was a tad too dry for our liking.
Final Thoughts – Tune Hotel KLIA2
All in all, we had a fantastic stay at Tune Hotel KLIA2. The bed was comfy, room was spacious enough for a 1-night stay, shower was great, and the food was amazing(apart from the breakfast). We are also very impressed with the service and professionalism of all the staff, from the front-desk, to housekeeping, and to the servers who served us our food.
