A stay in an executive room level and above grants you access to the executive lounge as well, where ala carte buffet, and evening cocktails are served daily.

Our drive to the hotel from Georgetown was pretty seamless. Without traffic, it is around 25minutes by car. Parking is free for in-house guests. If you are driving, you need to take the lift to the ground floor to check in, and then take another lift to access your room. Check-in was smooth, and we got our key cards in less than 5 minutes.

Executive Deluxe Room

Our room was the Executive Deluxe Room, which grants us access to the executive lounge on the 25th floor. At 34SQM, it is spacious for both short-term and long-term stay.

Our room features a smart workspace, power-nap chair, and a delightful king-sized bed.

Use of coffee machine, and complimentary mini-bar are also included. There is also a sound bar that can be connected to your devices.

Complimentary uses of high-quality Amari branded bathrobes.

Toilet is separated into bathroom and shower area. Full set of toiletries are also provided and replenished daily.

Executive Lounge Benefit

While we did not use the meeting room and private check-in and check-out feature of the lounge, we did have breakfast there and enjoy some evening canapes.

Breakfast is served ala-carte and cooked to order, with a mini buffet of pastries, fruits and salads.

During cocktail hours, guests can enjoy some mocktails, classic cocktails, hard liquors, beer and house wine. Light snacks are served buffet style, and menu rotates daily.

Smart-casual attire was not observed during our visit to the lounge. Guests seems to be able to wear flip-flops and enter the lounge.

Breakfast at Amaya Food Gallery

Breakfast at Amaya Food Gallery was OK. Wide range of selections including Penang specialties, Malaysian cuisine, and Western cuisine. However, breakfast can be quite crowded and we would highly recommend you to dine at the executive lounge if you have lounge access.

Facilities and Surrounding

We really liked the pool. Though not big, it is sufficient for one to get a lap round done. We also liked the plantations around, feels like a mini resort hidden in a bustling city.

There is also a 24/7 gym and an in-house spa.

Similar to Amari KL, the interior and surrounding of Amari SPICE Penang is filled with artistic piece. The overall design was very aesthetic and pleasing to the eye. You can also check out our review of Amari KL HERE.

BBQ Bounty Buffet Dinner

Happening every Friday and Saturday, enjoy BBQ meats and seafood, as well as seafood on ice at Amari SPICE Penang. At RM148NETT for adult, and a 25% discount for in-house guests.

Seafood on offer includes oysters, prawns, crabs, mussels, scallops and slipper lobster. As the name of the buffet suggests, you can also get grilled meats such as rib eye, grilled lamb leg and chicken.

We also enjoyed the desserts, with an array of cakes and puddings on offer.

A Thai Affair Afternoon Tea at Cascade

Enjoy a a selection of sweet and savory selections with this Thai-inspired tea time set, available at Amari SPICE Penang’s lobby lounge, Cascade.

Start your feats with a traditional Miang Kham set, before indulging in dishes such as tuna bowl, lemongrass chicken and spring roll. Finish your feats with scones, and Thai-inspired desserts.

Lunch @ Amaya Food Gallery

We end our lovely staycation with a delightful lunch at Amaya Food Gallery. We tried a chocolate + nuts smoothie and a lychee iced tea and it was both refreshing.

Mushroom soup has a strong earthy flavor which we enjoyed.

We highly recommend the Nasi Goreng Amari, which has a bit of everything. Don’t get distracted though, as the star of the show is the rice. Filled with ‘Wok Hei’, each mouthful is an explosion of flavors.

We also tried the soft shell carb burger. Nothing surprising, but the crab was fresh and sweet.

As recommended by our server, we tried the Jackfruit tart. However, we find the chocolate cream at the top was too overpowering, and the tart a tad too hard for us (this sentence is not a tongue-twister).

We also realized that there are a decent selection of TWG-infused tea cocktails available. We did not have the opportunity to try them out, but the selection seems very interesting, and we highly recommend you guys to try them out.
