Rarely have we come across an eatery where they serve authentic house-made soda, hence we have to give it a try. Hygge House was very well presented, but unfortunately it was slightly too watery for our liking.
We did enjoy the Butterfly Pea Assam Boi, both taste wise and presentation wise. That being said, there were too many edible flowers/mint in the drink and we sometimes find it quite difficult to drink.
I initially wanted to go for the truffle fries, but I was recommended to try the Chili fries instead, as Hygge uses its own house blended chili. Truth to be told, the chili was very flavorful and we really liked this appetizer.
For mains, we had the Chicken Kesom Pasta as well as the Signature Curry Laksa. For the former, we found the incorporation of the Kesom leaf (laksa leaf) into the pasta ingenious. It was very intense and it felt like we were eating laksa, albeit in a more Western style.
The Signature Curry Laksa was one of our favorite. Filled with prawn, chicken, and fish cake, this curry laksa is extremely flavorful and extravagance. Definitely more expensive compared to a street-side stall, but definitely packs more punch and generous in the ingredients.
As seafood lovers, we couldn’t resist but to give the Seafood Paella a try. Clams, Squid, and Prawns along with perfectly cooked rice reminded us of a delightful day in Valencia.
To end our feast, we had a delightful Banana Butterscotch cake. The cake was fluffy and has a strong aroma, and the combination of the warm cake and cold ice cream was heavenly.
Final Thoughts
We really enjoyed our dinner at Hygge Dining & Bar. Apart from the soda, we really enjoyed all the food, and the pricing of each dish wasn’t too expensive as well. The environment was pretty cozy, and the dish served felt pretty authentic.
