First Impression
We were pretty impressed with how clean and pleasant looking Roost Glamping is. It is near to the city and major attraction, yet still be able to offer something that is close to nature.
The Tent – Private Tent with AC and Private Bathroom
There are many different tents on offer at Roost Glamping. If you are on a budget, you can check out their Shared Tent with fan. Or if you would like to splurge, you can always book their most popular Private Tent with AC, as well as a private bathroom.
Our private tent is located below the check in lobby area, hence we would need to walk down a flight of stairs.
The grounds are filled with pebbles/rocks so that to prevent stains when it rains.
All tents are properly numbered, so that you wont go in to the wrong tent!
As we enter our private tent in the middle of the day, it was pretty humid and stuffy. Thankfully, the AC was pretty strong and it cooled down the room within 5 minutes. As you enter the tent, the first thing that welcomed you was the bed! The bed was pretty comfortable and definitely large enough for 2 person.
The tent is pretty huge in comparison to normal camping tents. There is a rack for you to hang your towels. There is also a chair for you to lounge in the tent itself. You can also bring out the chair to sit outside in the evening.
The private bathroom is located beside the tent. It is a pretty simple bathroom but we really appreciate that it is super clean. There is a basin for you to brush your teeth or wash you hands. A sitting toilet, as well as a standing shower. Do note that there was no toiletries provided, apart from shampoo and body wash.
The Food – Roost Cafe & Bar
Our stay does not include breakfast, but we did spent some time having our lunch and dinner at Roost Café & Bar. We really liked the setting of the café, right in front of the swimming pool and surrounded by greeneries. I spent both nights doing my work here at the café.
For lunch, I start off with an Iced Mocha. Unfortunately, I find the mocha to be a bit watery.
I then proceeded to having a Mango smoothie. The smoothie was thick and very flavorful. I also placed an order of Japanese Fried Rice. I really liked how Roost Café platted the dish. It was a very yummy lunch.
I ended the meal with a Banana pancake. This pancake was surprisingly delicious. It was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. This is definitely a must-order when you’re here.
For dinner, I went for a sandwich and soup set. I chose the Bacon and Chicken sandwich, that comes alongside a bowl of mushroom soup. The sandwich is super delicious too, with bits of bacon and chicken that goes well with the melted cheese. The mushroom soup is pretty thick and filled with bits of mushroom.
However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the apple juice was chilled, not fresh.
Since the dessert during lunch left a very good impression on me, I decided to order another dessert, this time a Thai staple – Mango Sticky Rice. I was again very impressed with the presentation of the dessert. The mango was sweet, and goes will with the sticky rice.
On selected nights, there will be free screening of movies as well as a Marshmallow BBQ session.
Final Thoughts
My 2 night stay at Roost Glamping was pretty comfortable. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I decided to stay at Roost Glamping. But the overall environment, from the café, to the surrounding of the property as well as the tent made me feel at home. I had a really memorable stay at Roost Glamping and would highly recommend you guys to check them out if you ever wanted to try something different and unique!
