The Staycation Experience
The Room
We were invited to experience the Duplex Suite at Vivatel Kuala Lumpur, the most luxurious suite in the hotel which offers an amazing Kuala Lumpur skyline view, featuring a living area, a kitchenette, and an amazing bathtub. The Duplex Suite is designed to offer a feeling of ‘home’ away from home.
Our room was located on the 11th floor, at the corner of the hotel. We are able to access our room on the 12th floor (highest floor) as well since it is a Duplex Suite.
Once we enter our room, we are greeted with a living area that is large enough to have friends over for a coffee and for business travelers to have discussions. There is also a Nespresso Coffee Machine for coffee lovers.
A working desk is set at the corner of the room, and also a toilet for some quick business.
On the 2nd floor of the Duplex Suite, we were amazed by the open-concept bath and shower, which also feature a bathtub set right beside our King-sized bed, separated only by glass.
The Duplex Suite is definitely more suited for couples who enjoy intimacy and the lack of privacy due to the open concept bath and shower adds to the lovey-dovey feel of the suite.
Bathroom amenities are provided with the usual suspects included as well. The Shampoo, Shower, Conditioner, and Lotion are by Aigner Black, and the rest of the amenities are in-house.
The Breakfast
We had our breakfast at the Retro Lounge. During the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), all guests are required to wear face masks and gloves (provided by the hotel) if there is a buffet set-up. On days where there are lower occupancies, a breakfast set will be served instead.
We had a very light breakfast as we are still full from the delicious dinner yesterday. We highly recommend the Nasi Lemak and be sure to cover it with tons of Sambal as it was heavenly delicious. Surprisingly, the scrambled egg goes well with the Nasi Lemak. Other than that, there is also a salad bar and coffee and fruit juice are served as well.
The Facilities
We ventured out into the swimming pool after our breakfast to burn off all the calories. The swimming pool is attached with a shallow kiddie pool as well, making it a family-friendly swimming pool. There is also a gym beside the swimming pool, set in an almost jungle decor which we feel very calm and delightful while working out in the gym. The gym was rather small and only had limited gym equipment, suitable for a light workout.
Fantastic Staycation @ Vivatel Kuala Lumpur
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the Duplex Suite @ Vivatel KL. The suite was perfect for both of us, and we absolutely love the open bath and shower concept. We also enjoyed the breakfast, as well as our lunch and dinner at the Retro Cafe. You can read about our F&B experience here.
