Overlooking the Petronas Twin Towers, guests have exclusive access to top-notch recreational facilities – host memorable events, enjoy a sumptuous meal at the restaurant and recharge in the fully-equipped Fitness Center and outdoor swimming pool.
On our trip to Oakwood Hotel Kuala Lumpur, we stayed in their one-bedroom deluxe apartment situated on the 15th floor. Measuring between 50-55 SQM, the one-bedroom deluxe apartment are designed to cater to the needs of business executives and couples. There is a bright and well-lit space in the living area coupled with a intimate dining table for 2 person and a well-equipped kitchenette.
Guess can choose to have a king-size bed or twin beds during your stay in the one-bedroom deluxe apartment. There is also a TV in our bedroom as well as in the living room. The toilet has a standing shower separated from the toilet, which I greatly appreciates. Standard toilet amenities are also provided.
At night, we were invited by Oakwood Hotel and Residence Kuala Lumpur to their poolside restaurant and bar TrEat to have a try of their Live Tiger Prawn Promotion whereby each person gets a serving of 500 grams worth of live tiger prawn, served alongside 4 different sauces and unlimited beer for 3 hours. This promotion is priced at RM100 nett.
We were lucky as the rain stopped just before the event started, and we got to eat all the prawns by the poolside. As we arrived, one can choose to ‘fish’ their own prawns or have the chef do it for you. For the sake of experiencing the full event, we decided to catch our own prawns! While it wasn’t as exhilarating as the real thing, it is still a fun experience!
The prawns were served fresh, and the meat was extremely succulent and juicy. More so, the prawns goes well with the sauces provided. The unlimited beer was definitely an icing on the cake, and paired well with the prawns. We gobbled down 3 pints of beer before heading back for a good night’s rest.
Overall, our stay at Oakwood Hotel and Residence Kuala Lumpur was homey, comfortable and basic. If you are looking for a place to stay during your trip to KL, I would totally recommend this hotel.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Giselle and her team for their hospitality and for hosting us at Oakwood Hotel and Residence Kuala Lumpur.
