The Room – Club Premier Room

Lift to our room

As it was during CMCO, the air conditioning on the floor of our room was not functioning. It was very stuffy and warm and unfortunately that was not the most pleasant welcome for us. However, upon entering the room, we were surprised by how spacious the room was and the staff were kind enough to prepare birthday amenities for us as this staycation was to celebrate lady boss’ birthday.

The room was nicely decorated with balloons (not helium, they just stuck in on the ceiling haha) and a complimentary 2550g chocolate cake from Berjaya Times Square Hotel, very thoughtful! We also received a ‘welcome treat’, a selection of traditional Malay snacks as it was during Raya. Complimentary mini bar is provided as well comprising instant coffees, tea and mineral water.

In terms of the toilet, a rather strange design as you were welcomed by 2 bidets before the actual shower and bath tub appears on your right. The bathtub is big enough for 1 adult but a squeeze for 2. Basic toilet amenities are provided as well. The bathrobes at Berjaya Times Square Hotel felt comfortable too!

The Club Lounge Experience – Evening hors d’œuvre and Breakfast

Evening cocktails start from 530PM-730PM and we headed to the café at around 630PM. Thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, light dinner was served on order and not buffet style. Beer, Wine, Liquors, as well as 3 types of cocktails were served. Both lady boss and I are huge cocktail fans and we opted to try all 3 different cocktails on offer: Screwdriver, Whisky Sour, and Long Island Iced Tea.

Mini bites were served in a 3 tier plate reminiscent of the traditional English-style tea time. Satay, sandwiches and sweet treats all tasted delicious. To our surprise, there’s also fried chicken and chips served while we were galloping down the small bites, it almost feels like an entire meal! The fried chicken was extremely juicy and both of us enjoyed the chicken very much.

For breakfast, we headed back to the café, but to our surprise, it was rather empty for a weekend at 9AM. As much as we would love to have some company, we also appreciate the quietness and the fact we could eat the breakfast and had the entire restaurant to our own.

Empty cafe for breakfast

I ordered a western set, and the set comes with some pastries, fresh fruits, salad and a yoghurt. Fruit juice, coffee or tea are also provided upon request. Overall, the food was sufficient for 1 person (in fact too much) and we had a very satisfying breakfast.

Conclusion

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Berjaya Times Square Hotel and we would definitely be back! Due to CMCO, all facilities were closed and we could not try out the facilities, and I guess that would be the reason for us to go back again.
