Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur – Hotel Review 2021

Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur is a 5-star luxury hotel situated across from KL Sentral Station. It offers a refreshing retreat in modern hotel rooms and suites with smart TVs, USB ports and scenic garden or city views. Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur offers guests a coveted location in the city center near celebrated attractions, including Chinatown (Petaling Street), Central Market, Dataran Merdeka (Merdeka Square) and Petronas Twin Towers.

Lady Boss and I decided to have a staycation during CNY 2021 as we are all stranded here in KL. This will be the first of FOUR hotels we will be staying at during CNY, and you can check out the reviews for other hotels here: (Aloft KL Sentral, The Westin Bukit Bintang, Four Points by Sheraton Chinatown)

We took the MRT to Muzium Negara and surprisingly there was a connection from the MRT itself to the hotel. After taking the lift to the ground floor for checking in, we found out that the hotel shares its entrance with its direct competitor, Hilton KL. Even the swimming pool is shared (which we found to be very intriguing).

What’s your pick? Hilton or Meridien?

Checking in was a breeze, and we were escorted to the lift. As it was a weekday and CMCO was still being implemented in KL, there will be no buffet breakfast served, instead a set menu is to be ordered in the morning and guest can dine in-room.

Very grand lift area

We are staying on the 24th floor, and our room type is Superior Room with a King-sized bed and amazing city view. The price we paid was RM236.50 inclusive of breakfast for 2. The room size is at 30SQM and unfortunately there was no bathtub. However, we loved the modern design of the room itself and the view was breathtaking.

Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur – The Room

Upon entering the room, we were greeted by a card signed by the general manager, and also welcome amenities of 2 cans of Malaysian cookies. Ah, the cookies does reminds me of my childhood. We totally enjoyed the cookies!

There’s a hallway once you enter the room, and on the left is the toilet. Couple of steps forward brought us a nice view of KL and a heavenly comfortable king-sized bed.

There was also a working desk for me to work on my blog post, as well as space to put our luggage (Notice how we are packed for this 4 days staycation haha)

Over to the mini-bar, a hand-sanitizer and sanitizing wipe is provided by the hotel. 2 bottles of complimentary drinking waters, teas and coffees are also provided.

The toilet itself was beautifully decorated with white marbling across the wall, and it is very luxurious. No bathtub but the deco more than make up for it.

Basic amenities are also provided, with its amenities from malin+goetz one of our favourtie brand! We requested the front desk to provide us which a few more body lotions and body wash which they duly obliged! Thank you Le Meridien team!

Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur – The Breakfast

The next morning, I woke up at 8AM to order room service. I ordered a western breakfast set that comes with ham, hashbrown, pastries, yoghurt, fruits, fruit juice and milo. Whereas Lady Boss ordered a nasi lemak set with chicken rendang and Teh Tarik. Needless to say my set has a larger variety compared to Lady Boss’, and that is because the portions are based on the in-room dining menu, and my western set was far more expensive than Lady Boss.

Upon placing the order, it took the team around 45 minutes to deliver the breakfast to our room. That is enough time for me to get a quick shower to start the day fresh. Overall, we enjoyed the food and it was a pleasure dining in the comforts of our own room!

Conclusion

Overall, it was a great stay at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur. As it was a weekday, the hotel was fairly quite and service was impeccable and personal. For the price we paid, we felt we’ve got our penny’s worth and we would definitely come back again for the pool and gym (which we do not have the chance to try). The staff was also courteous and asked me if it was a good night’s sleep as I was checking out. Next stop, Aloft KL Sentral!
