Plaza Premium Lounge KLIA2 – Review 2021

We always like to head to the airport early to avoid any unforeseen circumstances from happening which could potentially delay our trip. However, sometimes you just don’t feel like sitting outside of the boarding gate where there are huge crowds in the area. With the announcement of the Langkawi travel bubble in Malaysia, we decided to head to the airport early to do our COVID test. We were there a good FOUR HOURS before our boarding time haha.

The COVID test and the queuing took up 1 hour of our spare time and we had 3 hours to spare. As we were wandering around the airport, we stumbled upon Plaza Premium Lounge, at Level 2M of KLIA2, right beside it’s sister transit hotel, Aerotel.

Plaza Premium Group

With a mission of “making travel better”, Plaza Premium Group is a pioneer and the market leader in airport hospitality services with an international footprint of over 180 locations across 49 airports in 25 countries and regions, serving 20 million travelers annually.

The Entrance – Plaza Premium Lounge KLIA2

From the departure hall, take an escalator down to Level2M. Plaza Premium Lounge is located beside Aerotel.

Outside of the Entrance

There is a TV outside of the lounge, where I assume live sports are being broadcasted here Pre-COVID. There is also a bar where beers are on offer.

The Food

Due to the pandemic, we had the entire lounge to ourselves. We were welcomed by the receptionist and he guided us on how to order the foods (it was ala carte, as compared to pre-pandemic times where buffet was served). Ordering of the food must be done via Google forms, which can be reached through a simple QR scan on the table.

There were several main courses offered, and we decided to go for an omelette with mushroom and cheese, sweet and sour chicken rice, as well as vegetarian aglio olio.

Each set comes with a choice of Coffee/Tea, carbonated drinks or alcohol (beer). The main course was served in a tray accompanied by 2 pieces of cookies and a bowl of barley ginkgo soup😋

Vegetarian Aglio Oli, Iced Latte and Can drinks.

Mushroom Omelet

The food was simple and delicious. Each person is allowed up to 3 sets of main courses. To be honest, for the price I felt it was worthwhile because you would get food around the same price in KLIA2 anyways.

As for the facilities, there are sofas, free Wi-Fi, as well as charging points. Toilet is also available but there’s no shower facilities on offer. Wifi is also provided.

Final Thoughts

Overall we had a great 2 hour stay at Plaza Premium Lounge KLIA2. The food was delicious, serving was prompt and professional, and the servers are super friendly. We would also like to extend our appreciation to Plaza Premium Lounge for hosting us.

One thing to note is that this lounge is at landside, which means it is before custom and immigration. Hence do ensure ample time as you would still need to go through immigration.
