The Forest Heritage – Food Review 2021

The Forest Heritage is a forest-themed restaurant and bar located in the historical city of Georgetown, Penang. Housed on Church Street, the restaurant is pretty easy to locate due to its sharp sign board. The restaurant is built in a heritage English-style building. The Forest Heritage serves a western fusion cuisine, with beers, wines, and desserts on offer.

First Impression – The Forest Heritage

The design of the restaurant looks modern

As you step foot inside the restaurant, you will immediately noticed several good spots to take some nice pictures. The restaurant also has an upper-seating level, but it was closed during my visit. Nonetheless, the outlet manager, Mr. Ang immediately guided me to my table near the bar counter, and I started wandering around and taking tons of pictures.

One of the 2 eye-catching wall decor in the restaurant.

The crown jewel

During my time dining at The Forest Heritage Restaurant, many people took their OOTDs and/or food shots with this wall as background! Very instagram-able indeed.

The other parts of the restaurant mainly consisted of leaves hanging down from the ceiling, and the overall vibe is indeed very forest-y.

The Food

During our visit to The Forest Heritage, we ordered 3 drinks and 2 meals. The main dishes are actually recommendation from the outlet manager himself. Here’s what we tried!

Iced Latte – RM10

Latte was not sweetened. The coffee is not that strong and is perfect for those who prefer a milder coffee.

Iced Matcha – RM14

We were slightly disappointed with the Iced Matcha. We tend to prefer a stronger matcha taste however this one was too mild, and the ice make it worst haha. We asked for syrup and it tasted much better.

Hot Latte – RM9

Loved the latter art. Taste-wise it is slightly stronger than the iced version.

Chicken Parmigiana – RM29.90

The first main dish we had was Chicken Parmigiana. Big chunk of chicken chop deep-fried to perfection, and covered with home-made bolognaise sauce. The chicken is then baked with cheese. It’s served with a side of salad and fries.

The chicken was extremely tender and juicy, and the bolognaise sauce was perfectly seasoned. The cheese tricked us into thinking that we are eating Pizza haha! The portion of this dish was extremely huge, and I struggled to finish it.

Oven-baked pork ribs – RM29.90

We were served Oven-Baked Pork Ribs as our second main course. The pork ribs was cooked to perfection and the meat fell off the bone with ease. The sweet sauce goes well with the pork. It was served on a bed of potato wedges, broccolis, carrots and mushrooms.

Coffee beans are also sold in The Forest Heritage. It was displayed in the bar and you can approach them if you’re interested.

Final Thoughts – The Forest Heritage

Overall, we had an amazing meal at The Forest Heritage. In terms of the restaurant, we felt it was one-of-a-kind and the vibe and lighting as well as the environment make for a perfect place to chill. The foods are to die for however improvements can be made on the drinks. We would love to be back again in the future!

We would also like to extend out appreciation to the owners of The Forest Heritage, as well as Mr. Ang, the outlet manager, for their hospitality and for hosting us.
