Located inside the iconic 900 feet Ilham Tower, Element KL is within walking distance to Ampang Park LRT as well as The Petronas Twin Towers.
First Impression – Element KL
We drove to Element for our staycation and parking was fairly easy to find. We went on a weekend and surprisingly there were a lot of space in the car park. It is slightly troublesome as the parking lift is not connected to the rooms. Hence, you will need to take a lift to the ground floor, and then proceed to your rooms from there. If you have not checked in, you will need to alight at level 40 as that is where the reception of the hotel is located.
You might be a bit lost as the entrance is not what you might expect from a typical hotel. Fret not, the friendly guards in the entrance will be more than happy to guide you.
Check-in was pretty efficient during my stay. I got my keys to my room in less than 10 minutes. The room I will be staying this time around is a Skyline Studio King room, and as the name suggests, comes with a view of KL magnificent skyline. I was assigned to room 5210, which is on the second highest floor of the hotel at level 52. You will be able to take in the view of the 4 iconic towers in KL, namely The Petronas Twin Towers, The KL Tower, PNB 118, as well as Tun Razak Exchange (TRX).
As you enter the room, there is a short hallway that leads to your bed. On the left, there is a luggage area as well as the closet to hang your clothes. A save as well as ironing boards and iron are provided.
The room was pretty spacious, and is suitable for both short-term and long-term stays. There is also a kitchenette equipped in each room, providing a fridge, microwave, plates and silverware.
Complimentary mini-bar is provided, with coffee and tea on offer. Element Kuala Lumpur is promoting sustainability, hence no bottled water is provided. Instead, eco-friendly 3M water filters are installed in each room to reduce plastic usage.
There is a working desk beside the TV. Our favorite in the room has to be the Signature Westin Heavenly Beds. We slept like baby for 2 nights and it’s the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. Let’s not forget the magnificent view too!
The bathroom was surprising very spacious. We also liked the design, it felt pretty luxurious.
The bathroom is separated into both wet and dry area. The dry area features the toilet, as well as single vanity. Full set of toilet amenities are provided. The wet area features the shower, with rain-showerhead.
The Food – Trace Restaurant & Bar @ Element KL
Breakfast is served daily at Element’s hotel one and only dining outlet, Trace Restaurant & Bar. The restaurant is open for breakfast buffet, as well as ala-carte lunch and dinner. During my stay, I enjoyed the full breakfast buffet spread at Trace. Options are pretty well-stocked, including an egg station, a noodle station, as well as some western and oriental dishes. Malaysian staple, such as nasi lemak, is available everyday.
We also had the opportunity to try out one of the new offerings at Trace, and it’s called relax reception. Available daily, relax receptions is priced at RM58, and includes 2 Wine/Beer of your choice, as well as a snack of the day. We had a white wine, as well as a tiger beer. However, we do find the snack of the day a bit underwhelming.
The Facilities
You would not expect to have a swimming pool in the middle of a building, and then being recognized as one the most prettiest swimming pool in KL. Located on level 39, the swimming pool is a stunning work-of art, with clever use of mirrors and reflections, making it a very instagrammable place in the hotel. It is also an indoor pool, hence the pool can be used at all times, rain or shine. However, do bear in mind that the operation time of the pool is from 7AM to 10PM. The gym is also fully equipped with common equipment. Gym junkies, rejoice! The gym is open 24/7.
Final Thoughts
We enjoyed our stay at Element Kuala Lumpur. We appreciate the close proximity to various attraction, and the room was comfortable for both short-term or extended stays. We would definitely be back, both for the room as well as for the pool!
