The Marina Phuket is situated about 15 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Patong beach. This hotel is perfect for anyone looking to stay near to many attractions in Patong, yet far enough for one to unwind in privacy.
First Impression
The journey from the airport took about one hour. Once I’ve arrived, I was welcomed by the amazing architecture of The Marina Phuket. From afar, the rooftop looks like a cruise ship!
The lobby was pretty crowded when I arrived. But the staff were quick to address me, and apologised for the wait. Tip top service! I got the keys to my room in less than 10 minutes.
The Room – The Marina Phuket Deluxe Double
Our room is located on the 7th floor. There are a total of 9 floors and a rooftop. The room we were assigned in was a Deluxe Double room with Balcony.
As we arrived during the evening, we were welcomed by a ray of sunlight the moment we open the door. That’s right, we were able to witness the sunset as it is directly facing our room. On a side note, we do hope that the room was prepared in terms of opening the air-condition, as it was pretty stuffy and hot when we enter the room.
To the right was a wardrobe with hangers and a safe.
On the left was the toilet, which includes a single vanity and a shower cum bathtub. Do note that toothbrush are available on request.
Just beside the toilet was a small siting area, with a large mirror for make up. There is also a plug for hairdryer.
There is also a working desk, with complimentary minibar included. The minibar consists of tea, coffee and bottled drinking water.
The bed was comfortable enough for 2 person. However, we do find the bed to be a bit hard for our liking. There is also a lazy sofa by the window. The balcony overlooks the mountains and city of Patong. Towards the end you can also see the ocean!
The Facilities
The swimming pool is available on the rooftop of the hotel. Built to shape like a cruise ship, the swimming pool is usually crowded with people. The pool is open from 10AM-10PM. Do head over to the pool during the day and night for contrasting views. The gym is located on the 9th floor, which is the highest floor of the building.
Final Thoughts
The Marina Phuket is an affordable hotel to stay in Patong Area. It is within walking distance to major attraction yet far away from the music of Patong’s night club.
