Our flight back from Langkawi was scheduled to depart at 7PM, and we had to check out of our hotel at 12PM due to high occupancy. We arrived at Langkawi airport so much earlier and decided to hang around Plaza Premium Lounge.
We had a great time at Plaza Premium Lounge KLIA2 during our departure to Langkawi, and you can check it out HERE. Because of the positive impression in KLIA2, we have some high expectation in terms of service and food quality walking into Plaza Premium Lounge in Langkawi International Airport.

The Entrance – Plaza Premium Lounge Langkawi
The receptionist welcomed us to the lounge and immediately escorted us to our seats. She also apologized due to the high occupancy of the lounge and the environment might be a bit noisy! (Top notch service). We were given individual seating as the larger tables are all occupied, also taking into account social distancing as well.
The Food
Slightly different compared to the lounge in KLIA2 ,the lounge at Langkawi does not have a QR code to order. Instead, we were told what is available and the waitress would come and take our order. On the day of our travel, we were told that there are 3 main courses, tomato pasta, aglio olio and nasi goreng. Each set comes with a drink of your choice (Tea/Coffee/Can drinks/Beer). And since we were there on an empty stomach, we decided to go for all 3 offerings!
We ordered all 3 and our absolute favourite is the tomato pasta! Portions are not too huge and the flavour is just right, sour and savoury at the same time! The cheese added a different dimension to the dish as well. Pasta noodles are cooked al-Dante as well.
We were also served kuih-muih after we finished our main courses. We absolutely loved the kuihs and we encouraged all of you to try it (if it’s available)
The Plaza Premium Lounge in Langkawi is not huge. It’s pretty small but has all the amenities you need. There’s a TV, individual seating with chargers, private toilets as well as shower facilities(although it was closed due to COVID19). We were a bit disappointed when we were told that the shower facility is closed as we arrived at the airport all sweaty and sticky. Nevertheless we hope to be back again!
Final Thoughts – Plaza Premium Lounge Langkawi
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Plaza Premium Lounge Langkawi. We managed to spend a good 4 hours at the lounge devouring on good food. The service was top notch, the chef personally greeted us and ask if the food was OK, and obviously the food was of the highest quality. We did see a slight difference in drinks however, as we felt the coffee we had in the Plaza Premium Lounge in KLIA2 tasted much better compared to the one in Langkawi. But if you are an alcoholic like me, you can always skip the coffee!
One thing to note is that this lounge is at landside, which means it is before custom and immigration. Hence do ensure ample time as you would still need to go through immigration.
